11 Cunts Say Yes. One Cunt Says Nah.
Eleven jurors reportedly say yes. One says nah. Six days later, nobody has a verdict. Welcome to the world’s most serious group project.

There are 12 people on the Lindsay Clancy jury.
Six days into deliberations, they're reportedly split 11–1.
Which means somewhere in that jury room, one person is currently staring down eleven other people thinking:
“Yeah, nah.”
And honestly? Respect. Not because we know they're right. Not because we know they're wrong.
But because there is nothing more universally human than being the one cunt in the room who refuses to go along with everyone else.
The problem with 12 people
You'd think getting 12 people to agree on something would be relatively straightforward.
It's not. Ask 12 Australians where to go for dinner.
You've got: Three who want Thai. Two who want pub food. One who “doesn't mind” but somehow rejects every suggestion. One who's vegetarian. One who says, “I'll just have a drink.”
And one cunt who says:
“I know a place.”
You are now two hours into the discussion. Nobody has eaten. Someone has left the group chat.
And you're seriously considering moving interstate.
Now imagine doing it in a jury room. With evidence. With legal instructions. With someone's future hanging in the balance.
Suddenly, choosing Thai doesn't seem so difficult.
The 11–1 problem
According to defence lawyer Kevin Reddington, the jury is reportedly split 11–1, with one juror allegedly refusing to follow the judge's instructions regarding reasonable doubt.
The judge has declined to remove that juror and sent them back to continue deliberating.
Which seems fair.
Because if there's one thing worse than 11 people disagreeing with you, it's having a judge say:
“Nope. You're all going back in there.”
The alleged holdout isn't necessarily a cunt. The other eleven aren't necessarily right. And that's precisely the point.
Nobody outside that room knows.
But that hasn't stopped the internet from doing what the internet does best:
Forming extremely confident opinions about things it doesn't actually know.
The internet jury has already reached a verdict
You know how this works. Someone reads a headline. Someone else watches a 47 second TikTok. Someone's cousin's hairdresser knows someone who worked at the hospital.
Suddenly everyone is an expert in:
Criminal law. Psychiatry. Jury procedure. Postpartum psychosis. Evidence. Reasonable doubt.
And, apparently, the psychological profile of one anonymous juror.
Fuck me.
Give Australians WiFi and a strong opinion and you've basically created a second jury.
Except this one has no evidence, no judge and absolutely no obligation to shut the fuck up.
Everyone's a Cunt
Everyone's a Cunt enter stage left.
Because the book isn't really about calling everyone an arsehole.
It's about recognising something far more uncomfortable:
People are complicated.
Some are brilliant. Some are idiots. Some are principled. Some are stubborn. Some are both.
Some will change their mind when presented with new information.
Some will double down because admitting they were wrong would cause their entire personality to collapse.
And some? Some are just cunts.
The Holdout Cunt
Every group has one. The person who won't agree.
The person who asks another question after everyone thought the meeting was finished.
The person who says, “Actually…” The person who reads all the terms and conditions. The person who spots the typo everyone else missed.
The person who says: “But what if we're wrong?”
Sometimes they're the most annoying person in the room. Sometimes they're the most important.
And sometimes they're just a massive cunt. The trick is working out which one.
Twelve people. One decision. Zero chance of keeping everyone happy.
The Lindsay Clancy jury's job is not to make the internet happy.
It's not to satisfy Twitter. It's not to give TikTok a conclusion. It's not to agree because eleven other people already have.
It's to consider the evidence and the law and reach a verdict if they can.
And if they genuinely can't? Well, that's what a deadlock is.
It's not particularly satisfying. It's certainly not convenient. But neither is reality.
Reality doesn't always give you a neat ending, a villain, a hero and a satisfying little bow to tie around the story.
Sometimes you get 12 people in a room. Eleven say one thing. One says another. And everyone walks out thinking, “Fuck me, next time I’m pretending I never got the jury summons.”
So, is the one cunt the problem?
Maybe. Maybe not. That's the beauty of it. We don't know.
And perhaps that's the most 6GC lesson of all. Before you decide someone else is the cunt...
Check the evidence. Check your facts. Check your assumptions.
And maybe, just maybe, consider the possibility that you could be the cunt.
Because... Everyone's a Cunt. Including you.
Especially when you're absolutely certain you're not.
